What do they do?

The Silver Strings Harp/Violin Duo
highlight the important moments of life with timeless and elegant music. The Duo is available for hire to perform for receptions, dinners, weddings, showers, tea luncheons, funerals, and holiday gatherings. They create an elegant ambiance by providing a graceful and refined backdrop of classical music.

Who are they?

The Silver Strings Harp/Violin Duo is directed by Lisa Siebelink, a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, a classical pianist and a Suzuki piano teacher. Her children, Isaac and Stella Siebelink, who have been classically trained since age five in the Suzuki Music Method and home-educated, comprise the Silver Strings Harp/Violin Duo. Lisa brings over 20 years of experience as a teacher and classical pianist for weddings, parties, and church services. Isaac and Stella bring a heart-felt passion for playing and sharing their music with an appreciative audience.

What type of music do they play?

The Silver Strings Harp/Violin Duo play a mixture of solo and duet pieces from a variety of classical composers. Their musical director is always present to coordinate the timing of the music at the critical points during a wedding or to suggest timely pieces for the moment.

Why would I want to hire a harp/violin duo?

Live music performed by trained classical musicians adds energy and interest to any event. The musicians are sensitive to the emotional climate of the event and can tailor their music to appropriately match the desired mood of the moment. They are a joy to watch as well since they take true pleasure in their art. Their smiles and genuine warmth are contagious as they perform.

Live musicians can make the wedding or event appear perfectly choreographed when the little, unanticipated moments of life happen at an event, such as the bride or other family member arriving slightly late or hesitating before walking down the aisle. Live music also helps to provide a smooth and seamless transition for the variable amount of time in between the ceremony and the reception, while guests are entering or leaving, or during poignant moments that are best marked with music, rather than words.

But aren't they a little young?

Don't let their youthful appearance fool you! The Silver Strings Harp/Violin Duo play with precision and accuracy that comes from hours and years of practicing and performing. For the majority of their pieces, they play by memory and without printed music since the music has long been committed to their fingers and ears. They just like to play for fun, so they practice a lot on their own and together! Where additional musical selection or oversight is needed, the musical director provides immediate guidance during an event. Take a listen to a sample recording and hear for yourself.
